1. Information We Collect
When you use our quote request form, the information you provide (name, contact details, and service requirements) is composed into an email draft on your own device using your default email application. No data is transmitted to our servers until you choose to send that email.
If you accept analytics cookies, we collect anonymised usage data via Google Analytics (see Section 3 below). This helps us understand how visitors use our site and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
2. How We Use Your Information
If you contact us by email, phone, or WhatsApp, we use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry, arrange site visits, and deliver the services you have requested. We do not share your details with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR (Article 6), we process your information on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests: When you contact us by phone, email, or WhatsApp, we process your details to respond to your enquiry, arrange site visits, and deliver the services you have requested.
- Consent: Analytics cookies are only set when you give explicit consent via our cookie banner.
- Contract: If you instruct us to carry out work, we process your information as necessary to fulfil that agreement.
4. Cookies & Tracking
This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site and to measure the effectiveness of our Google Ads campaigns. Analytics cookies are only set if you give consent via our cookie banner.
Cookies we use:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Maintains session state for Google Analytics | 2 years |
| ag_cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie preferences | 1 year |
Google Analytics 4 anonymises IP addresses by default. No personally identifiable information is collected. For more details, see Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Your Choices
When you first visit our site, a cookie banner allows you to accept or reject analytics cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking in the footer of any page, or by clearing your browser cookies.
If you reject analytics cookies, Google Analytics runs in a limited cookieless mode. No cookies are stored and no personally identifiable data is collected.
6. Data Retention
- Enquiry data (emails, messages, phone records): retained for the duration of any active work, plus six years in line with the UK limitation period for contractual claims.
- Analytics data: retained for 14 months (Google Analytics default), then automatically deleted.
- Cookie consent preference: remembered for one year, after which the cookie banner will reappear.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your personal data where there is no compelling reason for us to continue processing it.
- Restriction: ask us to limit processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Portability: request your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email antony@aggardenandtree.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
